Lawn Tennis.
The first tennis match" this season between Feilding and Palmerston is arranged to be played on Saturday next. The teams chosen ate : Palmerston — Kosh, Crump, Webster, Brandon, Cox, and Connel. Feilding — Barton, Dyer, Coote, Richmond, P. Giesen, and Brabant; scorer, P. Clark. The match should be an evenly contested one, and very interesting, as both teams are anxious to record a win. The Feilding team, accompanied by a number of onlookers leave for Palmerston by drag at midday to-morrow. , 4t the local courts during the week a 'number of club tournament events were played off. In the cnampionship events Brabant beat P. Giesen 10-8, 6-4, and in the handicaps — Miss A. H. Fry (owe 15) beat Miss J^aearthur (owe 15 plus 1 bisque) ; Dyer (owe 40) beat Barton (owe 40) 7-9, 6-3, 6-2 ; HaWombe (receive 30) beat Matheson (receive 15) 8-6, 6-4; W. B. Giesen (receive 15 plus 1 bisque) beat Coote (owe 30) 6-1, 6-4 ; Dyer (owe 40) beat P. Giesen (scratch) 6-3, 6-3. The original drawing for the tonrnament events has been slightly altered.
