Wantanui Education Board.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the above was commenced last evening. Fre-Bent-Messrs Carson (in the chair), banson, Baker, Ross, Fry. Hurley and Beckett. After the minutes of the previous meeting had been read and confirmed the Board went into committee to cons.der the following i-Awahnri- 4. number of petitions and counter petitions, respecting the teacher at this place were received and read ; also sundry letters from the teacher respecting an exchange of schools, liesolved that The teacher be written to and informed that at his own request the Board would endeavour to find him a smaller school, Resolved to write to the Oroua Bridge Committee asking it they would accept Mr Nye as teacher. Ashurst— Letter from Committee applying for pupil teacher. Resolved to reply that they are entitled to one. Colyton-Nils Friberg, headmaster, applied for sick leave. Resolved to allow three month's sick leave, and one month's Bick pay Halcombe Application from Florence Clapham for cadetship. Resolved that Board has no vacancy. Applications— Application from A. England for appointment as a teacher. Eesolved that the Board regrets cannot offer employment. Letter from C. C. Hub bard applying for appointment ; resolved to reply that the Board sees no reason to alter the decision of the Executive Committee Bunnythorpe— Letter re cadet ; reBolved that the Board cannot appoint a cadet uuloss there was a suitable pupil in the school. n Sundry teachers' reports were aealt with, and the Board adjourned until this movnine. — Chronicle.
