Druids' Conference.
— o 1 (Per Press Association). Wellington, February 4. The Druids delegates met to open a District Grand Lodge which is to take charge of the North Island, Marlborough, Westland and Nelson, this morning. Mr Ryan Grand President, and Mr Brennan, Grand Secretary, came from Melbourne to take 1 part in proceedings. Mr Mackie, of Pon* sonny Lodge, Auckland, was not allowed to take bis seat as the Lodge had not complied with the law. Mr Ryan took the chair and explained the object of the visit. The Charter was read and the Lodge declared duly open. The election 1 of officers took place as follows :— Grand District President, J. Mackay, Welling* 1 ton ; Vice-President. Adeane r Gisborne ; Secretary, J. Parnell, Wanganni ; Trea* ' surer, A. Sykes, Wanganni; Guardian, < Asten, Blenheim . Auditor-, <3_ Snadden ■ and R. Fletcher, Wellington; C. W. ' Poynter, Wanganni; Trustee*, E. H. 1 Wadchngton (Masterton), R Armstrong ' (Carterton), and J. A. McEenna (Patea). ' The various officers elected were then > presented by Bro. Thompson, District > Grand President of Canterbury, after which the Grand President deolared them 9 duly installed for the next twelve months. Delegates from the Grand Lodge in Aus« • tralia congratulated the Pistriot Grand I Lodge on its formation. It was decided j to register the District Grand Ledge at • Druids Hall, Wanganui, and ,the first meeting of the Lodge was fixed for Wan* ganui on 30th July.
