+, — (PEB PEEBp ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, January 8. At a meeting of the Benoyolent Institute the Rev. Von Stavern (chnirman) said the result of the year's work was very satisfactory. Auckland, January 8. The Mayor has received a telegram from the Chairman of the Rotorua Town Board staling that 200 Arawas are leaving by train to-morrow to visit Auckland and asking that hospitality may be accorded to them, and also that the sights of the city may be shown them. The Mayor has telegraphed asking what the word •• hospitality," implies, and complaining of the short notice given. This Day. The total collected in Auckland for the Wairarapa Relief fund is A' 1350. Invercargili., January 3. During Bishop Salisbury's stay in Invercargill, in company with the Mayor (Mr W. B Scandrett) he visited All Saints' and St. John's The conversation turning on the Wellington Bishopric, His Lordihip expressed the opinion that the Colony would find Dr Wallis a very able churchman and a man deyotedto duty.
