IMPRISONMENT FOR LIFE. (PEB PBESB ASSOCIATION). Pabis, December 22 The case against Captain Drefus, of the French Artillery staff, who was arrested on a oharge of selling secret military plans to foreign spies, rests on a document stolen from the German Embassy. The German Minister throatened to leave Paris if the document was used ; hence the trial is being conducted privately. The Court has sentenced a German lieutonaut to five years on tho charge of espionage. December 23. Drefus has been sentenced to incarceration for life in some fortified placo, and ordered to pay tU© cqats of tUe pftgecutiou.
