Memorials to Departed Statesmen.

(Per Press Association.) Wellington, Dec 25. A memorial to the late Sir Harry Atkinson has been placed in Knrori cemetery at the instance of his friends who sat with him in Parliament. It is in the form of a large granite cross, enclosed in low stone and granite walls of suitable design. The cross, together with the steps, upon which it stands, measures about 10 feet in height The Ballance Memorial Committee has arranged to alter the design of the Ballance memorial so that the leading feature shall be a statue of the late Premier. This is in accordance with the expressed wish of Parliament last session. The me mortal, which will be about 16 feet high, with a diameter at the baee of seven feet, will be erected within the Parliament grounds.
