Singular Fatality.
(Per Press Association.) Wellington, November 19. j An infant named James Henry Gardener, aged 18 months, met its death at Whakamarino, Marlborough, under peculiar circumstances. The child was left asleep in a cot, and on the mother returning shortly found him hanging by the chin and back of the head between the handrail and side of the cot, quite dead. It is surmised that deceased awoke during liis mother's absenct and crawling backwards became jammed in the position in which he was found and being unable to extricate himself, was strangled,
