Correspondence.

A. AND P. ASSOCIATION FOR FEILDING. TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAH. Sir, — I noticed a very pithy letter in your columns the other evening concerning a Feilding Agricultural and Pastoral Show, and I feel inclined to echo the writer's words and say " Why, Oh why, have we not one ? Palmerston N. has so much and Feilding so little. The former has, amongst other things, a respectable Post Office, an A. and P. Show Ground, a Trotting Club, a Public Asasignee, a Polo Club, a Theatre, a hT Public Notary, a Gas Company, etc., etc. Tho latter has, well, very respectable highly intellectual citizens, who only require a leader to rise up amongst them to have more even than her sister townsfolk, even to electric light, some day. But, to return to my topic, I feel sure that if my friend (if he will allow mo to call him so) would call a meeting of persons interested, aud that should include nearly the whole population of our town, that something would be done with a view to forming the desired Association, and thus a chance be given to tho public of Feilding to keep their hard earned gaius in their own town, and not have to leave them again and again in Palmerston. The estimated decrease of capital in our town on last Show Day was i'7so. Thanking yon for your valuable space. I am, etc., Salutaris. Feilding, November uth, 1894.
