Feilding State School Committee

. ~» . A moctiug of the Feilding State School Coinmitteo was held in the sehoolbouse last evening. Present — Messrs W. Carthow (chairman), W. G. Haybittle (secretary), H. Worsfold, J. Gould, J. Taylor, R. J. Thompson, W. G. Shearer, and Dr J. Sorloy, Tho uiiuutes of the previous meeting were read and continued. A letter was received fvoin the Secretary to the Wanganiji Education Board stating tho Board's carpenter would inspect the Hchool buildings. Also, in reply to a letter from the committee, stating they could not increase the capitation grant. Mr Shearer, member of the visiting committee, reported having inspected tho school and poiutcd out a few minor requirements that should be attended to. The head-master's report was read, showing that the attendance was improving, being 278 for the present quarter and 279 for last week. The chairman stated that he had approached Mr Hill, head-master, on jtbp subject of getting up a concert in aid of the school fui)ds, which would probably take placp about the cud of the present month. It was decided to ask the head-master to report to each, mqotin" of tho committee the names of children who wore most irregular in attendance. Messrs H. Worsfold and 11. J. Thompsou were appointed a visiting committee for the month and the committee adjourned.
