.* Messrs Abraham and Williams report : —At Awahuri, on Tuesday, a moderate entry of cattle came forward and a good muster of sheep. Cattle sold fairly well, but sheep were dull, the bulk of the transactions being done privately. At Palnierston, yesterday, beef equal to requirements met with brisk competition throughout. Dairy cows and heifers were without enquiry; weaners and steers in moderate demand. With the exception of beef, the enquiry of cattle was limited. Sheep were numerous, mostly hoggets. A downward tendency pervaded both fat and stores, though the quality in many cases left nothing to be desired. Second rate sheep suffered relatively the sharpest decline.
