Waituna Cricket Club.

A well-attended meeting of this club was held at Messrs Ranson and Son's store, Waituna, on Satnrday last. Mr J. J. Williamson, president of the olub, occupied the chair. After the minutes of the last meeting had been read and confirmed the election of officers took Slace, which resulted as f oUows :—Presient, Mr J. J. Williamson ; vice-presi-dents, Messrs WUson and Northcote; captain, Mr G. Shannon; treasurer, Mr Ranson; selection committee, Messrs W. Shannon and Jas. Murray. The appointment of secretary was deferred until next meeting. It was resolved, " That the subscription for the ensuing year be 5s " ; '• Tbat the treasurer forward this club's share of entry money to the secretary of the Halcombe Cricket Club to enter the United Cricket Clnb for the senior championship, as arranged with the Halcombe delegates at last meeting;" " That the match with Halcombe be arranged as soon as possible." Mr Williamson offered the clnb the nse of one of his paddooks to play on, which offer was accepted with thanks* It was decided to play on cocoanut matting, and that a man be engaged im. mediately to put the ground in order* The selection committee were asked to order any materials required during tiie season. The balance-sheet showed the olub to be in a good position j after buying all material last year there is 21s in hand, and the names of 40 members were handed in as likely members. Votes of thanks to the ohair aud Mr Ranson for the use of his room concluded the proceedings.
