Campbelltown Notes.
*» — ; [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Shearing operations are now in full swing here and the farmers are taking advantage of the fine weather to get tbo wool off the sheep's backs. Last week MrC. Arnold and Miss N. West were joined together in the holy bonds of matrimony, at tiie residence of Mr Mudford. In the evening onr boys gave tbe newly wed couple the usual music with the tin band the members of which were treated to a liberal repast. The Rev. Mr Clement performed the ceremony. On Sunday afternoon an accident happened in the Square. As tiie Primitive Methodist Sunday School children were returning to their homes and three of the Uttle ones walking along the centre of the road, a lady and gentleman came riding along at a somewhat brisk pace. One of the children, a daughter of Mra Hiqks, ran in front of the lady's horse and was knocked over. It was at first feared the child was killed for the horse had trodden nnon it, but beyond a few bruises the child was unhurt. A few months ago when Mr George Dear was extracting wire staples from a fence with a, steel file, a spUnter of the latter broke off and struck Mr Dear in one of his eyes. At first he thought the injury trifling, but since the aooident he has completely lost the sight of the eye, and at times suffers great agony in the wounded part, A slight accident happened to the maohinery of the dairy faotory on Sunday but the manager assisted by our local blacksmith soon repaired damages. The Rev. G. Grindley preached an eloquent mission sermon here on Sunday morning. The young ladies engaged in collecting for the mission work have been very successful in raising funds.
