BOROUGH BALANCE-SHEET.

TO THR EDITOR OJf" THB STAR. Sir,— l would like to ask yon why the Balance-sheet of the Borough Council is not published in your paper, as is done in other places? Is it to save the ratepayers a few shillings, at the same time as they throw money away on doll's work in the Makino stream? Or is it to hide their light under a bushel ? It is right enough for some to say •' the Balance-sheet is lying in an office," but few care to go there to be gaped at. I, for one ratepayer, want to study our expenses quietly in my home, and I suppose I am not the only one. I am, etc., Baterayeb.
