TO-DAY'S PARLIAMENT.
Wellington, This Day. The House met at 11.80 a.m. Mr Seddon moved that the House meet at 11.30 on each sitting day until the close of the session, and sit until 1 p.m., and on Monday fnjm 2.30 p.m. Mr Seddon said the only subject which should provoke much debate was the legislation regarding the Assets Company. Mr Ward moved a series of resolutions empowering the Government to arrange for a renewal of the 'Frisco Mail service for 8 years. The total cost to the colony last year was £'7,929. Captain Russeli asked why the contract was renewed for 3 years when there was a possibility of a complete change in the whole of the mail service by the prospect of the Vancouver route. Sir R. Stout moved an amendment to the resolution by omitting *' San Francisco " and inserting " North America " in order to give the Colonial Treasurer a free hand to arrange for a service by the Vancouver route (Left Sitting.)
