All the afternoon was occupied with the Abbatoirs and Slaughterhouses Bill, in which the numerous amendments made by the Stock Committee were agreed to. The Speaker gave reasons for maintaining that the amendments made by the Legislative Council in the money bills were an encroachment on the privileges of the House, and pointed out that the only way to maintain harmony between both Houses was by resisting any breach ot the kind. Managers were appointed to confer with the members of the Legislative Council on the question.
