This riding comprises that portion of the Wauganui Harbor Board Block known as the Pohangina Small Farm Association No. 2 and the township. Mr Bayliss occupied the chair. Mr Finnis said he had been asked by the ratepayers at his end of the Block to stand for the riding. There were roads in his neighbourhood that ought to be made passable ; several of the ratepayers had to use Mr Bartholomew's tramway to get their goods along, and I as these roads all radiated from the township, he would also be serving the interests of the town by doing his best , for the roads referred to. Mr Wagstaff said the ratepayers would expect that the councilors of the different ridings woujd help one another in this I way. j Mr Goldfinch proposed Mr Charles Selby as a fit and proper person to represent the members of the Pohangina Association in the Pohangina County Council.— Seconded by Mr Sinclair.
