This work is to bo dono out of a grant of £150 from tho Government, advice of which was published in yesterday's Star from our Wellington correspondent. Mr Bray will proceed to Birmingham on Monday or Tuesday and place a number of men on the rond to do the most nocessaiy work, but this amount is far too (-mall to do all that is required. Wo must, however, be thankful for small mercies.
