Mr (\ Bray, junr., Engineer to the Kiv.itea County Council, has rf chived instructions ly t< leg rain from tie Under-Po^retary to the Land Department to proceed with making tho Kimbolton road from Birmingham to Rangiwabia paesablo for traffic, by scraping tho mud off and filling the holes with famines. This work is to bo dono out of a grant of £150 from tho Government, advice of which was published in yesterday's Star from our Wellington correspondent. Mr Bray will proceed to Birmingham on Monday or Tuesday and place a number of men on the rond to do the most nocessaiy work, but this amount is far too (-mall to do all that is required. Wo must, however, be thankful for small mercies.
