Feilding Harmonic Society.

The second weekly practice bj .the above society was held in the Foresters* Hall last evening, and^ notwithstanding the deluge of rain which, no doubt, kept many away who live at a distance there was a good attendance. Several new glees were gone through in very good style, the baton being wielded by the Kerlnnes Jones in the absence of the conductor, Mr MO. Meadows. The glees were <• The brightest day of all the year" (Arthur Henry Brown), " Farting Kiss " (Pinsute), "Boat Song" (Cowan), and "The Bells of 8t Micba«l»a Toirer" (Sir B. P. Stewart i. Before the practice a meeting was held to appoint a secretary, when Mr W. B. Qieeen was unanimously elected to that position. It was notified that the committe&had adopted the following rules : "That family tickets be issued at the following rates, viz., one member 10/6, two members 15/-, three 21/-,;, and lour 25/-." Ladies and gentlemen who were not at the practice and would like copies of the glees practised last evening) may obtain them on applying to the Librarian, Mr F. W. Treseder. It was intimated that the next practice would be next Thursday at 7.30 pm sharp, and given a fine night there should be a full muster. Mr Moore presided ai the piano wnile Mr Woollams (flate), and Mr S. Andrewi (cornet), added greatly to this success of the choruses. ' ' - '
