The Stock Market.
Messrs Abraham and William* report r —At Palmerston, yesterday, all sorts of of stock were largely in excess of those adyertised. Sheep were dull of sate throughout ; most of the sales were effected after the auctions. Yeiy few lota went homeward. We quote : Cattle— small weaners,2ss to 80s; larger 44«; 2-yr steers, £3 12s; 18 mos. do. £2 8s; springing heifers. £5 14s to £6 Is; milch cows, £5 to £8 2s 6d j forward store cows, £312t6d; fresh steers, £5. Sheep— • Store wethers, 8s 6d to 9s 9d ; lambs, ss ' 6d to 7s sd ; 2- tooth ewes, Us ; small sorts, 7s od to 8s ; empty ewes, 3s 6d ; ewes in lsmb (mixed ages up to f m.) 8s to 8s 6d ; 4- tooth ewes, 10s ; coll ewes, 4s. 4t Pahiatua and Woodville all stock that came forward sold readily at the following quotations :— Ewes in lamb, 7s 6d to 10s; mixed lambs, 68 3d ; others 4s 8d to 4s lOd ; aged stud Lincoln ewes in lamb, £1 la: fat bullocks, £7; light beef £6 to £6 6s ; springing heifers, £5 3s to> £0 12s : milch cows in calf, £6.
