The news that the President of the United Stateß intends to undo the work of Congress by placing his veto on the Tariff Bill, by which it was anticipated that the Australasian colonies would have secured an inexhaustible market for their wool, is very discouraging. It would appear, however, that the supporters of the new Bill do not intend to succumb without tnak iDg a bid for victory ; the Senate is very wrotb over the intended action of the President, and there is still a hope of the affair being settled in a manner favourable to those interested in the the wool trade.
