Weevil Extinguisher.
The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency have issued the following circular : — We have much pleasur. in placing at the disposal of our constituents the following recipe ior the preservation of iheepSKins from weevil. The preparation v belie veu to be thoroughly effective ior this purpose, while it also keeps the pelt tit for tanning 1 . r ihe recipe is at» follows :— Put 30 gallons of water into a copper, also 20ibs of soda asn, and £lb of the best aloes ; stir well until it boils hard, then add 40lbs or arsenic. Be caretul to have a bucket of cold water handy, aud, it made properly, when you add the arsenic the preparation should rise, and the cold water must be added, otherwise it will boil over. Let cool, ano use one part ol this to four part-i ot water, and apply with a brush on the, skin, as soon as convenient, after renioval from tbe carcase, bame proportions ior smaller quantities
