The Ottawa Conference.

(PEB PBEBB ASSOCIATION.} Ottawa, June 80. The Hon. Mackenzie Bowell (Canada) has been elected president of the CoUr ference. Sir Henry Wrixon (Victoria) expressed the opinion that the Conference should not close until the Pacific cable is assured. j Mr Lee Smith (New Zealand) will introduce the question of the annexation of Samoa, but it is unlikely that it will be discussed, the British delegates having suggested that the subject be avoided.
