Football News.

A meeting of the committee of the Feildin» Football Club was held in Mr Ross' room on Saturday evening. Pre sent— Messrs Matheson (in tbe chair), Aitken, Kelleher, Kichards, Robinson, Cartj and Giesen (secretary). It was resolved that the secretary be instructed to arrange a match with the Pirates' Club, Palmerston, for Saturday next, and also to try and arrange a match with the Napier Club for the 24th of May. The chairman stated that the takings at the recent concert in aid of the Manawatu Rugby Union was £17 from which it waa expected to cl-sar £8 or £'10. After considering an account, which waa left in in the hands of a subcommittee, the meeting terminated, There was a very fair muster of playerß at tho Oval on Saturday, and some good practice was indulged in. In view of the forthcoming matches every player should turn out and pet iuto " good buckle." The Cup fixtures for the season will be prepared this week by Mr Strachan.
