Che Convention to be held in the Theatre Royal, Palmerston North, by the Temperance party, on Wednesday next, is perhaps the most important meeting of delegates ever held in this district. Haying fuiiy discussed tho matter a resolution will be proposed, and possibly adopted, with a view of influencing, or strengthening the Tempeiance Party iv the House of Representatives, aud shewing the Go vernment what further legislation is required to give equality, and freedom to those who believe iv tho greater importance of morality, sobriety, and righteousness of tho people, than the groed and selfishness of tho few. In uddition, the complete organisation of the party throughout the Colony — have the Colony divided into districts with a central executive We are in formed by the secretary of the Prohibition League that 70 delegates outside of Pulmerstou North have notified him of their intention of being preseut. —Standard.
