The Dairy Industry.
A meeting of settlers and others In terested in tho erection of a dairy factory at Bulls was held in the Town Hall on Fiiday night for the purpose of hearing an address on dairying from Mr A. H. Wilson, who planued the factories in the Forty Mile Bush, alsoat Maharahara, Mr John Stevens, M.U.R., presided. Mr Wilson ex plained each detail in conuectiou with the factory system to the meeting and strongly urged the farmers to adopt it. He also advocated the creation of a better system of grading the butat the different ports before leaving the colony. A provisional committee was ap pointed consisting of — Messrs James Bull, James Me Hardie, George Carter. Thomas Muoru, Charles Ellery, R. M. Begg, John Stevenson, James Reid, Wm. Grein. Alex Bailey W. Trecklington, W. Mansell, T. F. Richard son, seur , Johu Ellery, Andrew Dougherty, Charles &i wards, senior, John Hurst, Robert Kilgour, Donala Fraser, Duncan McKenzie, Josiah Taylor, and Wastney. A hearty vote of thanks 'was giveu to Mr Wilson who we omitted to mention, is now North Island representa tive for the Canterbury Times.
