The Manchester Rifles will be inspected by Lieut. Col. Newall on Thursday next. The friendly teams match which was to have been fired between the Manchester and Marton Royal Rißes, on Wednesday next, has been post poned until Wednesday 2nd May, owing to the former not being able to get a team for that date. A meeting of the Shooting Committee of the Manchester Rifles was held at Mr Bastings Hotel last evening. It was resolved that ♦•he 3rd competition for the ladies' brac«let be held on Wednesday morning and afternoon ; that the challenge from the Manawatu Mounted Rifles be accepted, but that the Secretary write asking if the match could not be arranged for Wednesday, 25th, instead of Saturday, the 28th of April ; and that a social and dance be arranged for the 24th of May, to finish up the shooting season. The usual vote of thanks to the chairman terminated the meeting.
