Accidents and Fatalities.
TWO LIVES LOST. (PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, April 16. News has been received that a Wellington owned fishing boat, "containing two men, Fred. Hendricksen, her owner, and Henry Nelson, c.ipsiaed on Thursday morning last between Manawakapakapa and NewHarbour, Durvillc Island. Both men started to swim for the short*, and kept together for a time. Nelson then forged ahead of Henricksen, telling him not to get excited but to take it easy, and they would be all right. Nelson got about one hundred yards ahead, and Henricksen did not see him again. After swimming about a mile, Henricksen reached land, but was carried buck by the heavy surf n've times before ho could hind. J3oth men had on their gum hoots and clothe.*. Henricksoii iii.-i<]<) nn unsuccessful search for iiis ma o. Nelson was unmarried, and it is believed had no relatives in the Colony. Dunkdin, April 1G Josey Cook, six years old, daughter of Mr Harry Cook, of Dutiedin, was drowned in the Mataura river yesterday.
