W. Cook, and R. C. Bulkley The opponents of prohibition do not intend to select their ticket till all the nominations are in. . The temperance party had selected their ticket, but now find that technical objections disqualify l)r Teare and Mr P. H. Fraser. The other six are Messrs Morrison, Smith, Clere, ': Dodgshun, J. Collins, and H. J. White. Two more will be selected before the nominations close. '■■'.'?■. Dunbdin; March 12. Mr H. S. Fish has, after all, decided to be a candidate for the City licensing Bench. Legal opinion has been received to the effect that the ' Mayor does not hol<! office under the Council, and is therefore not disqualified. ; IjvvERCABGiUf, March 12. The Returning Officer at Invercargill, after taking legal opinion on the matter, has decided to reject all voting papers on the licensing question as informal unless the voter records his or her vote on all the three questions embraced in the ballot paper, by erasing two or three lines under each heading.
