Messrs Abraham and Williams report: — Yesterday at Palmerstou, there was a full number of sheep, with the exception of a pen of wethers and some woolly lambs, nothing called for special comment regarding quality. Business ruled dull at auction, but privately sales were effected at reduced rates upon original reserves. Cattle, in short supply, remained steady at recent quotations. Sheep— Forward Lincoln wethers, 9s ; 2-tooth wethers, 7s 6<l ; others, 6s 9d ; shorn lambs, 3s (kl ; culls, 2s 7d ; lambs in wool, 5s 2d to 5s 3d ; others, 4s (kl ; 2tooth ewes, 6s 3d to 8s 7d ; 6- tooth halfbred ewes, 4s (xl ; 4 and 6 tooth breeding ewes, 7s Gel ; others, 7s ; f.ui. ewes, 2s 9d to 5s 6d ; 2- tooth liomuej' rams, £2 j 2s ; aged Lincoln rams, 4s to 20s. Cattle — 2-year-old heifers, £3 2s ; milch cows, £4 10s to £5 ; 2-year-old steers., £2 16s ; 2V-year-old steers, £3 8s 6d ; fat bullocks, £6 6s. At Pahiatua on Tuesday, tho following prices were realised ; — 2- tooth ewes, 7s lid to 9s 2d ; % tooth wethers, choice, 7s 3d to 7s 8d ; others, 6s 5d to 6s 9d ; f.m. ewes, 6s 3d to 6s 6d ; culls, skin value, Is 7d to Is 3d ; best shorn lambs, mixed, 4s 2d ; wethers only 4s ; others, 2s 6d to 3s 8d ; rams 10s Od to 3jgns ; fat steers, 4:6 7s 6d ; forward steers, £4 12s scl ; choice heifers, in calf, £5 15s ; others, I*3 7s Od ; 2-year heifers, £2 15s to £'3 ; store cows, £2 10s to £3 7s 6d ; calves, 295.
