Dual Voting at the Late Elections.

Inquiries instituted by the Returning Officer prove that dual voting at the recent general election was not of criminal intent, and with the concurrence of the Crown Prosecutor legal proceedings will not be instituted. Auckland, January 30 Charles Sprans was committed for trial on a charge of impersonation, in voting in the name of Chas. tp a*g at the Eden election Sprans was also fined £5 for making a false reply to the question put by the Returning Officer as to bis name.
