Messrs Townsend and Paul [\\ elliug- , ton) report as follows regarding the | horse sale held at their horse bazaar :- j The majority of the horses offered comprised a draught of 20 brought over from Sydney by Mr E. Bowra, consisting ot heavy and light draught, express, and trap horses. Every line was sold. Heavy draughts brought from £15 to i'2o ; light ; draughts, £12 to £16 ; express and trap horses, Ml to £10. There was only a fewhacks entered, and they sold at from £"o to £'6 10s, and some " screws '" at from 30s to 40s. Tennent and Simpson report:— We held a successful sale at Marton. and report prices as under : — Cattle— Spej-ed good forward cows, £"5 ss ; fat cows and steers, £*5 5s ; heifers, 18-month to 2-year, £2 14s 8d ; dairy cows, £4 12s 6d to £2 15s, Sheep— Woolly ewes, % 4 and 6-tooth (mostly dry), Us 6d ; 2, 4 and 6-tooth wethers in wool, 12s 6d. We sold privately 2000 4 and 6-tooth wethers at full market rates.
