Concert and Cantata.
In another column will be found the programme for the cantata to be given in the Assembly Booms on Christmas Night. It is very evident that those who have had the matter in hand well know the class of entertainment which is most likely to draw a full house. They have been successful in obtaining the best of our local amateurs to assist them, not only in the concert, but in the cantata, which in itself is worth going a long way to hear, while the programme speaks for itself. A special feature in connection with the entertainment is that it is to be rendered solely by local talent, no outside help whatever being given, and it will be seen whether or not it|would be advisable to form a choral society here. To the visitors in town and our local residents we give the recommendation that if they wish to spend a very profitable and enjoyable evening they cannot do better than pay a visit to the Assembly Rooms on Christmas Night.
