Horse Sale at Wellington
Cunningham Badbaui and Go's weekly horse sale report:— The yards to-day were fairly well filled, but bidding was not nearly so brisk as it was last week. This, of course, U attributable to the different class of 19 nials which were yarded. Last week we had a consignment from Messrs Hocken Brothers, of Feilding, of really good, upstanding young horses, and they sold at from Ll2 15s to L 23, making an average of Ll6 15s. This week the horses weich came to hand lacked substance, hence the disinclination of buyers to bid. Good, big, upstanding spring carters are worth from LlB to L2O ; lighter sorts, suitable for express work, Ll4 to Ll6 ; cab and light harness horses, L 8 to Ll2. For hacks there is very little demand. No draughts came to hand. Several lots of harness, &c, was sold at prices according to quality. If people sending horses forward would give a few days' notice, so that their animals could be properly advertised, it would be greatly to their advantage.
