Manchester Road Board
The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Board was held in their offices, Feilding, on Saturday afternoon last. Present— Messrs Lethbridge (Chairman), Wheeler, Purkiss, Pearce, Conway, Booth. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence was read as follows :— From W. and H. V. Hammond, asking the Board to repair the road from Onepuhi bridge to their seotion up the Waituna stream. The matter has been attended to by the Engineer. Prom W. Rutherford, clerk Manawatu Road Board, informing this Board that his Board had taken the necessary steps to raise their share of the cost of the erection of the Aoranai bridge. c t , Fr ° m i as - P "nt, Ashurst, asking the Board's permission for admission l?JJ» aZ Imer&ton N ' Hospital.£S& th ' t ■■•■*" *«*•■ « Mr Pearce introduced the subject of the growth on the Taonui road, and fronting Messrs Tumbull's Lurtis, and other properties Mr Pearce said these settlers were deßirousof having it burnt before it became toy dry, so as to avoid destroying their fences. Mr Booth brought up the subject of the Makmo stream where it crosses Furlong s road, and it was the general opinion of the Board that something should be done before next winter, to prevent the water overflowing down the cutting and road and flooding adjoining properties. Accounts amounting to £149 9s were passed for payment and the Board adjourned.
