(PEE PEKBS ASBOCUTION}. Wellington, December 3. The Hons. Messrs W. P. Keeves and J, McKenzie returned from the South this afternoon. Messrs Ward, Carroll and Cndraan are expected during the week, and a full Cabinet meeting will probably be held about Friday. At the Supreme Court yesterday, William Taversham was convicted of the charge of committing an unnatural offence and sentenced to 5 years' imprisonment. Chbistchurch, Dec. 30. The Press says : — " With reference to the cable message, His Excellency tlie Governor authorises us to say that there is no foundation for the statement that lie has recommended the Hon E. J. Seddon for Knighthood." Auckland, December 2. The Hon. Mr Ward hag decided not to j jjive an address in Auckland. He expects to go South on Monday. An elderly man named Thomas Yates died on the Takapuna on the passage from New Plymouth. He came from England by the Aorangi. An inquest is to bo hold. This Day, W. Ramsay, farmer, at Pukaka, was found dead in a ditch near Kihikihi. [The dead body found at Kihikihi is James McQuoy ; not William Ramsay.]
