At a meeting of the local branch of the Insh National Federation League, a letter from Mr John Dillon was redd stating that Mr Michael Daritt would risit the colonies next season. The Women's Franchise League has dissolved and agreed to form a new,; women's political league. The new organisation is to be launched at a public meeting. The Industrial and Prorident Building Society haye declared a dividend of aix per cent and have increased the reserve fund. Nelson, December 1. Some bojs were playing with a pea rifle to-day, when a nine-year-old lad named Pike was shot in the right side. He was removed to the hospital, but the doctor says it will be impossible to judge of the result of the accident till tomorrow. Chbistchubch, This Day. The press says with reference to tbe cable messages His Excellency the Governor authorises us to say there is no foundation for the statement that he has recommended Mr Seddon for knighthood. Wellington, This Day. Edward Mangan, a farmer aged 32, at Earori, died this morning from injuries through falling from his horse while returning home on election day.
