The Credito Mobiliare has asked for a morUoiium, and the announcement has created a sensation in the city. 11 Moritorium " is the term applied to a period during which the business of financial institutions is suspended by order of the authorities, as was the case in Melbourne lately, when the Government proclaimed a bank holiday of five days. December 1. The Credifco Mobiliare has suspended payment owing to a run on the bank. The liabilities in August amounted to twenty-one millions. Dnring the run 60,000,000 lire (£2,400,000) were withdrawn from the Credito Mobiliare. Two-thirds of the assets are still intact.
