Flying Handicap — Lord Lion, Pihanga, Beeswing, Vain Glory, Ekin, Dawn, Challenge, Westoe, Pumau, Waikawa. Stewards' Stakes— Primus, Lord Lion, Barman, Hark, Lqnply, Aotive, Pumau, Tangikai, Rahui. " Teddy " Cowan, on the staff of the Napier Tolegraph, was tho only sporting reporter and tipster in Australasia who tipped Tarcoola for the Melbourne Cup.
