Campbelltown Notes

rFKOM Otfß OWN COBBESPONDENT..3 The receut rains have proved very beneficial to the growing crops which look better than I have ever before seen at this time of year. It is not too much to say that notwithstanding all the drawbacks experienced during the sowing season, a large harevst may bo confidently hoped for. Very iittle wheat has beeu put iu but a large area is under oats. The butter factory is working very satisfactorily and 8000 gallons of milk are put through every week, and that amount is increasing daily as tbe season advances. One farmer, Mr E. Buchanan, tops the list of suppliers, as he sends in 120 gallons each day. The members of the 1.0.G.T. held their weekly meeting in the Hall on Thursday last, when there was a good attendance. Ono "candidate was initiated, and the following officers for tho ensuing quarter were duly installed :-Bro Knight, CT. ; Bro L. Tucker, V.T. ; Bro J. Merrett, P.C.T. ; Bro W. Tucker, S. ; Sister Newman, A.S ; Bro G. Hunt, Chaplain ; Bro W. Mackay, Treas. ; Bro Rodgers, F.S ; Sister M. Hunt, Marshall ; Bro H. Ransom, D.M. ; Bro Hansen, G. ; Bro Costall, Sentinel. Atter the installation a singing competition took place which was very amusing. Next meeting night a recitation competition is to take place in which every member will be expected to take a part.
