(PEE PBESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, November 7Mr James Muir, a Government sapporter, addressed the Manukau electors, and received a vote of confidence. Wellington, Noyember 7. Mr C. F. Worth addressed the electorrs to-night, and announced himself a Government supporter. He received a vote of confidence. Mr McLean, the sitting member, at his meeting last week was questioned as to having proceeded against a poor woman on a judgment summons, which he was represented in the reports ot the local papers to have denied, saying at the same time he would retire could such a thing be proved. Mr Allan Orr, the questioner, to-day publishes an affidavit by Mr G. A. Jones, clerk, who swears the allegation is substantially true, and Mr Orr calls on Mr McLean either to disprove the affidavit or retire. Mr Jellicoe has definitely decided hot to contest the City. The Sociological Society's final ballot for the City seats goes in favor of Sir Eobert Stout and Messrs McLean and Fraser. Stratfobd, November 7. A well attended meeting was held at Eltham last night, as a counterblast to MrGK Hutchison's meeting on Friday. The Rev A. Woods presided. Mr Benmng complained that the charges brought against the Government by Mr Hutchicon were bald, and not proven. Mr Allsworth defended the action of the Minister in visiting the electorate and expounding the Government policy. He gave a history of the growth of Liberalism, contrasting it with Conservatism, and pointed out that organisation was necessary to success. A motion was then earned almost unanimously expressing confience in the Government.
