Several cricketers rolled up to the prao on Saturday afternoon and sides were picked by Messrs Henderson and W. Uiesen. In the first innings the former's side made 16 runs, and the latter 's 26, but the order was reversed in the second innings and Henderson's team put together 92, Baillie knocking up the respectable score of 41, and Strachan 30. Giesen's men only made 29, and of these Hill made 15, those were the only men who made double figures. The bowling was not up to tho avernge on either side. Refresh ments and an afternoon tea were kindly providod by Mesdames Lethbridge, Sorley and J. C. Hill, for which those present were very thankful, and the ladies mentioned were cheered at the close of the game. A scratch match will be played on Wednesday afternoon when it is hoped everyone who can make it convenient should attend in anticipation of the first cup match of the season on Saturday next. The team to play on that day will be picked on Wednesday evening.
