Nelson, This Day. At the Diocesan Synod last night a motion in favor of allowing women to vote at parish meetings and to have a seat on the vestry was negatived by a large majority. Dunedin, November 3. The Anglican Synod have passed a re' solution in favor of religions instruction in the schools. A resolution in favor of Bible-reading in schools has been adopted by the Presbyterian Synod. Christchurch. This Day. An influential deputation waited on Mr Eolleston this morning, and asked him to allow himself to be nominated for one of the Chnstchurch feats. Mr Rolleston declined the request na he had received such substantial promises of support from the Ellesmere electors.
