Messrs Lowes and lorns stock report — Our fortnightly sale was held at Masterton on Wednesday. The yards were well filled, especially with cattle which maintained their values well. Sheep were dull of sale, owing we think to the dry weather. The following prices were obtained: — Cattle — Forward 3-year old steers, L 5 19s ; 8-year old stores, 94s to L 5 8s ; 2-year old ditto, 56s 6d to 80s ; young steers, yearlings to 18-inontli, 38s to 455 ; heifers 2-year old in calf, 74s ; younger, 35s ; dairy heifers, 90s ; young cows, 95s to L 7 ; calves, 25s to 355. Sheep— Ewes and lambs, 12s sd ; hoggets were dull of sale, but realised from 7s to 10s 6tl. Pig« — Largely represented were in great demand, weaners realising from 10s to 14s. No demand for horses.
