FPer Press Association.] Washington, October 16. During i» riolent storm on the east coast of the United States, the lightning set 6re to the Baltimore Gaol. Fire hundred and forty-four prisoners were rescued, but 20 were killed or injured in escaping from the burning building. Many deaths and much damage to pro* perty is reported elsewhere.
