(PEB MESS ASSOCIATIONS Wellington, October 11. The plant of the NZ. Electrical Syndicate has been tested, and at the end of the present week many business establishments and private residences in the city will be ligntcd by electricity. The station contains fire djnamos, each capable of supplying electricity for 2000 incandescent lamps of eight candle power. The total expenditure of the syndicate up to the present has been fully L 30.000. This day. The main roll of Wellington con« tains 13,000 mimes, and about 700 have been received since. Hawkra, This Day. There will be over 1000 women registered on the Patea roll. Auckland, October 11. Wallath, the New Pljmouth high trayman, and two other prisoners, Wallace and Arnold, arrived by the Mahinapua tor Mount Eden Gaol, Chbistchuech, October 11. A second meeting of the conference of representatives of various religious denominations, convened by Bishop Julius, to consider the question of securing the introduction of religious teaching into the public schools of the Colony, was held today.
