Fatal Accident

Today's Chronicle says: —By wire from Hunterville yesterday Mr T. D. Cummins received the sad news that his nephew, Mr Fred. Hogg, until recently a settler at Westniere, had been killed in the busli, aud that his body would be brought into Ohingaiti. Mr Hogg was a young man, some 26 years of age, well knowu and highly respected in NVanganui. Deceased joined the Sommerville Small Farm Association a few months ago. and some six weoks since took up a section in To Kopua Block, 20 or 30 miles from Ohingaiti. A letter was received from him only a few days ago, and it was understood he was pushing on with bush felling in order to be ready for the next burn. Mr Hogg was such a favourite among thoso who were acquainted with him that the news of his sad and sudden death was received with most painful feelings.
