Manawatu Road Board.

An adjourned meeting of the above was held at Falmerston yesterday after, noon. Present — Wardens Knight (chair, man) and Stubbs. The balance-sheet of the Bunny thorpe Domain Board as on December 31st, 1892, was read as follows :— Receipts— Balance brought forward for Blst December, 1891, £11 ss ; rent of reserves, £4 4s sd. Total, £15 9s sd. Expenditure, nil. Cash in bank on 31st December, 1892, £15 9s sd.— Adopted. Messrs W. J. Fergusson and J. Walker waited on the Board with a petition praying that £210 be borrowed to form and metal part of No. 1 Line from the Aorangi road in a westerly direction for 86 chains — The application was granted, and the clerk was instructed to take the necessary steps* The chairman reported that the protective works near the Awahuri bridge were answering the purpose splendidly, and the willows, which were now being planted, would be of great benefit.— Standard.
