Another Electoral Platform
FPer Press Association.] Wellington, September 26. The political platforn adopted by the Liberal Association endeavors to secure electoral, educational, labor, and social reform. They urge granting voting power to every adult householder in municipal elections, and the abolition of plural voting ; that elections to local boards be conducted on the same franchise as Parliamentary elections ; free and secular education ; compulsory education up to 14 years, children passing sixth standard before that age accepted ; one universnl set of standards, and one set of school books for the colony ; finding of work by the Stale for those unable to obtain it themselves, such work to be carried out under co-operative principles; statutory eight hours, or 44 hours per week for all workers ; compulsory arbitration ; State ownership of land, railways, mines, and coastal and marine service ; State bank ; abolition of Legislative Council, nnd Institution of referendum ; abolition of Grand and Special Juries ; payment of common Jurors of 10s per day ; control of the liquor traffic by the people ; land tax only. _________
