Stock Markets
Mr D. Crewe reports of his Pahiatua stock sale : — Considerably more stock forward than was advertised. The attendance was good and bidding spirited for several lines, although many lines were passed in on account of the high reserves placed on them, but every line except two was ultimately sold at prices satisfactory to vendors. The following prices were realised — 2 to 2J-yoar-old steers, £3 13s ; strong yearlings", £2 ; good calves, 22s ; dairy cows, good, £5 to £7 ; dairy cows, medium, £3 3s to M 10s ; crossbred ewes, with lambs, 7s Id ; good dairy heifers, £3 10s to £5 ss. I held my usual monthly stock sale at Ekatahuna. There was a fair entry of dairy Btock came forward. The steers advertised were not yarded, the owner being unable to got them in. The attendance was good and bidding slack, except for real good dairy cows in profit, which found ready sale. These were several enquiries for young steers, cattle, and pigs.
