The Birmingham Postmaster

Mr O. J. Ashton, of Birmingham, who was recently married, and bas been the subject of some correspondence re the post office in Birmingham, was yesterday presented with an address from the settlers about Birmingham. The following is the wording of the address : — "To Mr O. J. Ashton,— Dear Sir,— We the undersigned, settlers in and around Birmingham, as a small mark of the estimation in which you are held, unite in wishing you and Mrs Ashton a long life of hap* piness and prosperity. We also desire to express our appreciation of the courteous and obliging manner in which you bave always discharged the duties connected wiih tho various offices which yon hold. Wo are, dear sir, your sincere friends." — Here follow 91 signatures.
